Hartlepool Trades Union Council (HTUC) organizes a Workers Memorial Day Remembrance Service & Wreath Laying Ceremony in Hartlepool (first held in 1999) on International Workers Memorial Day the 28th April of each year to remember those employees who have died through Industrial Accident or Disease whilst trying to earn an honest living for themselves and their families.

The confirmed speakers for this year’s (International) Workers Memorial Day Remembrance Service, Friday 28th April 2017, 12.30pm, Christ Church, Church Square, Hartlepool are:-

Guest speakers:-

  • Kathleen Walkershaw, GMB European Officer.

It is likely that over 40 wreaths will be laid by individuals / organisations and we will be providing individual flowers so anybody attending the service can lay a flower at the Workers Memorial in memory of a loved one.

We would especially like to welcome all family, friends and colleagues who wish to remember loved ones who have died or been injured, or made ill through their work.

Dear Colleagues,

On Thursday 16 March, Tuesday 21 March and Wednesday 22 March 2017 NASUWT members at Ark Elvin Academy in Wembley, Middlesex are taking strike action over redundancies, potential job loss and the impact on working conditions.

As you know, messages of support make a real difference to members in action.

I would, therefore, be grateful if you could send your messages to:

marked ‘Messages of support for members at Ark Elvin Academy’.

Many thanks.
